Sunday Couples - September 3

Playing a Better Ball Stableford, George Flynn teamed up with Pauline Hudson for 39 points to win the September Sunday Couples. Their 39 points was three better than the 36 points posted by Ken & Kathy May. Six couples turned out for the September event. The October Sunday Couples will be on October 1 and will be a Partners Best Ball gross and net.

Couples Classic - September 9-10

The 33rd edition of the Crystalaire Couples Classic was a complete success as 28 couples were treated to two days of great golf, great food and great entertainment. This year the format was again a couples individual eclectic and was broken into two equal flights based on the combined handicap of the couple. In the "A" Flight, Chuck & Linda Sager (Yorba Linda) captured the gross title with a 160 total while Mark & Lydia Kurtik (CCC) were the net champions with a 129 two-day total. In the "B" light, Ron Gonzalez & Roxanne Park (Vista Valencia) combined for a 185 to capture the gross title while the team of Tom & Steffnie Molley (Lakewood) took the net title with a 134 total. The participants were treated to valuable prizes, delicious food, impeccable service, great entertainment and all had a wonderful time. Special thanks to the Couples Classic Committee for making this another successful event at Crystalaire.

"Nite" Golf - September 23

For those that struggle playing golf in the daylight, try playing at night, pitch black, with a glow ball. That was what 31 brave CCC members faced during the Nite Golf event. The team of Larry Hackney, Barry Pontious, Janice Strech and Ray Martin won the "daylight" 9 holes with a scramble score of 27.25 and finished second in the overall with a 65.50 score. The team of Peter Bradford, Todd Dietzen, Carl Liguori and Pam Lockwood captured the "nite" 9 holes with a 36.25 which was good enough to give them the overall prize with a 64.50 total. For those that have never experienced "nite" golf, stay tuned for next year's event.

Bob Colman kept the streak alive as there was an "ace" for the second straight month. Playing with Pat Barela, Hole #11 was the victim as Bob used a 5-iron from 173 yards for his 2nd career Hole-In-One (both at Crystalaire). Bob is a member of the Hole-In-Club so the drinks are on him. So the question is - are you a current member of the men's or ladies' Hole-In-One Clubs? Men and ladies' can sign up with one of the Golf Shop staff. There are lots of "aces" to be had, so don't get caught with "your pants down". Sign up today!!!

Crystalaire is the place to be!
