JULY TOURNAMENT RESULTS:

Firecracker "Shamble" - June 30

Although it was called a "Shamble" it was anything but as 48 players competed for prizes in the annual Firecracker "Shamble". In a slight change from the normal scrambles, players selected the best drive of the group and then played their own ball out and counted the two best scores of the group. Brian Barcelona led his team of Jean Sung, Lou Whitlock and Iria Scocchio to victory in the gross division with a 145 total. In the net division, Tracy Oswell, Don Noseworthy, Ron Thomas and Sandy Weissenbacher recorded a 113 to win by a single stroke over the team of Dale Younger, John Glass, Karon Blalock and Jim Adams. The team of Jim Kitts, Jaime Mantel, Lydia Kurtik and Gary Little won the exciting 3-hole / 1 club horserace derby after play. Thanks to all who turned out to make this event a huge success.

Sunday Couples - July 1

Playing a partner's better ball gross and net, Mark & Lydia Kurtik recorded an 81 to win the gross competition in the July Sunday Couples. Nag Woo & Jean Sung posted a 66 to take the top net spot. There were 6 couples that turned out for the July Sunday couples event. The August Sunday couples is set for August 19 and the format will also be a partners best ball gross and net. Entry fee is $10 per couple and is an Open 'T' after 9:00 a.m.

4th of July Flag Tournament - July 4

The annual Flag Tournament brought to a close the 4th of July celebration after an exciting 3 days of golf at Crystalaire. 38 players competed in this annual Tournament. Players were given an American Flag and received their handicap plus the par of the golf course. Players who went the farthest without using up their allotted strokes were declared the winners. For the men, Erle Younker and George Flynn not only completed 18 holes, both ended up on the 1st green. Younker took the top prize as he was 5" from the cup while Flynn was 6'. For the ladies, Karon Blalock was declared the winner when she made to to the 1st fairway while Charlotte David was 2nd as she made it to just short of the 18th green. Thanks to all who came out for this annual 4th of July celebration.

Par 3 Tournament - July 14

The Par 3 Classic is turning in to one of the more popular summer events on the CCC schedule. There were 22 players that turned out for the event in which all 18 holes at Crystalaire were turned in to Par 3's. Low gross went to Brian Barcelona with a 53 while Johnny Blalock was second with a 55. The net scores were even more impressive as Pam Martin captured the top spot with a 50. Pauline Hudson was second with a 52 and Tracy Sanchez was third with a 52. Pam Martin and Dyan Robison won the best poker hand with a 3 aces. Then after the Par 3 Tournament about 30+ members and guests were treated to a showing of the Greatest Showman at the Drive-In Theatre.

Men's Member-Guest "The Coyote" - July 22-23

After 52 years in the books, the Men's Member-Guest "The Coyote" continues to be the premier event on the CCC calendar. This year's edition was no exception as 42 teams battled it out over 2 days vying for gross and net prizes. In the Mountain Flight, Chris Baingo and Thomas Camaione posted a two-day -16 total to win the gross title. It was close in the net division as the team of Steve Floersheim and Sandy Freeman posted a -21 total to win by a single shot over the team of Brian and Ed Barcelona with a -20. The Desert Flight produced two clear-cut winners as the team of Steve Story and Brad Smith posted a +32 total for the gross victory. Jasen Baker and Bryan Austin were the clear cut net winners at -16. In the exciting Horserace after play on Day 1, the team of Chris Baingo, Thomas Camaione, Ron David and Joe Lafirenza were deadlocked with the team of Anthony Perea, Wes Gonzalez, Jay and Dick Spake and after much deliberation, decided to split the 1st and 2nd prize. Gary Little and his Committee did an outstanding job in organizing this premier event on the CCC calendar. Thanks to all of you for making memories in this 52nd edition of the "Coyote".

Crystalaire has limited days for outside events. Most of our outside play comes from small business or departments looking for a golfing facility that is a challenging and a rewarding experience for customers and co-workers. Call our Professional for additional information.

Childrens Hospital

Crystalaire is the home of a few select fund raising tournaments such as the Antelope Valley Guild of Children's Hospital Tournament held each October,(Scramble or Individual). An outstanding tournament that the public is invited to play.
